A man has been charged with arson following a house fire at Hackham West yesterday afternoon.
Just after 3.30pm Friday 29 November police and MFS were called to Oslo Crescent after reports that a house was on fire.
Upon arrival at the scene the home was fully ablaze, fire crews battled the fire for 30 minutes before it was extinguished. The fire was believed to have been deliberately lit and allegedly started on the front porch area.
Police located and arrested a 51-year-old man of no fixed address at the scene and charged him with arson. The man was refused bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on Monday.
