Art Gallery Coordinator, Ray Wholohan appraised Mr Myles artist practice, “I was introducing to Mr Myles and his painting during the Penny Paniz Acquisitive Arts Exhibition, 2023.”
“I found Mr Myles to have a very Australian sensibility to his approach toward making Pop Art. Similar in style and intent to the great Richard Larter or the Annandale Imitation Realists of the early to mid-1960. Due to this, I found Mr Myles’ arts practice unique in our region as his artworks use both collage and expressive painting.”
Mr Myles said, “I pursue a semi abstract vein of painting, a great use of colour and like to distort shapes and geometry. Pop Art, Fauvism and Expressionism are my favourites and appreciate all forms of painting, from Realism to the American Abstract Expressionists. I hope the art loving audience of Griffith will enjoy colour and joy of these paintings. They range from self-created Portraits, colourful landscapes, some have local themes, of fruit, vines and the river forests.”
