An experienced Ashgrove doctor has been appointed to the Metro North Hospital and Health Board.
Dr Melissa Cairns is the newest member of the 11-person board and joins existing members Bernard Curran and Neil Roberts, who have been reappointed for four-year terms.
Minister for Health and Ambulance Services Yvette D’Ath said Dr Cairns had a strong record in primary care, along with serving on multiple clinical networks, committees and advisory groups.
“I welcome Dr Cairns to the Metro North Hospital and Health Board,” Ms D’Ath said.
“Through her work as a GP and positions on many clinical organisations such as the Queensland Maternal and Perinatal Quality Council, she has demonstrated her commitment to improving the health of Queenslanders.”
“I know she will work hard to ensure residents in Brisbane’s north continue to receive excellent health services.”
Mr Curran has been a board member since 2018 and Mr Roberts has been a board member since 2019.
