Ashurst advises WSA on Landside contract for Western Sydney International Airport

Ashurst has advised Western Sydney Airport on the contract with AeroWest, a joint venture between B.M.D Constructions and Seymour Whyte Constructions, for the design and construction of the Landside precinct at Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport (WSI).

The Landside precinct includes the access and internal roads and bridges, car parks, utilities, ground transport facilities, airport control and maintenance buildings, site wide systems, and various ancillary buildings and infrastructure.

Western Sydney International will be Sydney’s first 24-hour airport delivering world-class customer service with smart design and modern technology. The landside precinct is integral to the operation of WSI and will welcome passengers to Sydney’s new airport.

The Ashurst team was led by Transport and Infrastructure partner Krista Payne, who commented:

“I am thrilled to have led the Ashurst team advising WSA on the Landside procurement for Western Sydney International. The signing of the Landside contract marks the last of the major works packages for the airport, which is an incredible milestone for the project and for the WSA team. We are very grateful to have been involved in this exciting project and in this procurement. Congratulations to the WSA and B.M.D/Seymour Whyte teams!”

Krista was assisted by senior associates Caitlyn Read and Hannah Freeman, lawyers Emily Mo and Cameron Griffiths, with graduates Olivia Fehon, Johnny Nguyen and Gabriella Lubrano.
