Detectives from the Gold Coast Criminal Investigation Branch are investigating an alleged assault that occurred in Surfers Paradise last night, December 29.
Initial investigations indicate around 11pm, an incident involving two men occurred on The Esplanade during which time a 49-year-old Jacobs Well man had sustained a head injury.
The injured man was transported by paramedics to the Gold Coast University Hospital with a serious head injury.
A 30-year-old man has been assisting police with investigations.
Investigations are ongoing.
