Detectives from the Ipswich District Criminal Investigation Branch have charged three people following investigations into a robbery at Goodna yesterday, February 18.
It will be alleged that around 5am, a 57-year-old Moggill man exited a vehicle at a Smith Street shopping centre before two males approached him.
The two males, not known to the man, proceeded to assault him and demanded the man’s keys before they fled the area in the man’s Toyota and with a sum of cash.
A crime scene was declared, and the 57-year-old was transported to Ipswich Hospital with serious facial injuries.
Following extensive investigations over the past 24 hours and the execution of search warrants in Goodna and South Brisbane, police have located and arrested three people at an address in Carina Heights on Monday afternoon.
The Toyota Corolla has also been located this evening and will undergo forensic examination.
A 18-year-old Goodna man has been charged with robbery, assault occasioning bodily harm and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
He has been refused police bail and will appear before the Richlands Magistrates Court tomorrow, February 20.
A 15-year-old Carina Heights boy has been charged with robbery, assault occasioning bodily harm and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
A 13-year-old Carina Heights boy has been charged with robbery, assault occasioning bodily harm and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
Both boys have been refused police bail and will appear before Richlands Childrens Court tomorrow, February 20.
Investigations into this incident are continuing, and detectives are appealing to witnesses to come forward.
