ATA takes Technology and Maintenance Conference online

Registrations are now open for TMC Online, a free event that will deliver the latest technical updates, insights and stories from industry experts across Australia.

“While the current environment has impacted the delivery of the Technology and Maintenance Conference that we are used to, this year we are doing things differently to continue our tradition of providing valuable content to industry,” ATA Acting CEO Bill McKinley said.
“Taking our Technology and Maintenance Conference online allows us to connect with a much larger and broader audience than ever before and will allow our delegates to view the content whenever suits them.
“TMC Online offers something for all industry members, whether they be an apprentice, mechanic, fleet manager, director or supervisor,” he said.
The TMC Online format will include both live and on-demand content accessed via an online conference platform which will remain open for seven days from Monday 23 November through to Sunday 29 November.
“A TMC Online highlight, we are excited to welcome Lachie Smart, the youngest person to complete a solo circumnavigation of the world in a single engine aircraft, to share an insight into how he was able to pull off this incredible feat,” Mr McKinley said.
“Lachie will also explore the importance of bridging the gap between generations, ready to take the industry’s questions,” he said.
The free online conference will also feature:
  • Interactive live sessions include a truck inspector panel and discussions on safety technologies, hydrogen vehicles and heavy vehicle defects
  • Networking features to connect delegates and speakers
  • Exclusive interviews
  • The latest products, technology & services on show in the TMC Online exhibitor zone
“We will also celebrate industry achievements with a live broadcast of the 2020 Castrol Vecton Awards,” Mr McKinley said.
“This broadcast will feature an industry panel discussion reflecting on technological advancements over the years, as well as welcoming some very special guests: V8 supercar drivers Rick Kelly and Cameron Waters,” he said.
Mr McKinley said the awards broadcast will celebrate industry excellence with the announcement of the prestigious Castrol Vecton Industry Achievement Award and the Craig Roseneder Award for Technical and Maintenance Excellence.
“For more than 20 years the Craig Roseneder award has recognised the professionalism of the men and women who work behind the scenes in the trucking industry’s workshops,” Mr McKinley said.
“There is still time to nominate for this award, and I encourage all industry members to consider celebrating someone they know for this prestigious award,” he said.
