ATO on the hunt for accounting, law, finance and commerce grads | Australian Taxation Office

The ATO is particularly on the lookout for accounting, law, finance or commerce graduates.

Positions are available in almost every state and territory, including in regional areas.

The program offers university graduates the opportunity to build a career that makes a difference to the lives of all Australians, and be part of a team that creates and delivers programs to support the community.

Successful candidates will be offered a competitive starting salary of $70,280 (plus 15.4% super) and have access to the ATO’s generous working conditions. Positions will be offered on a full-time basis for 12 months, with successful completion of the program resulting in advancement to an ongoing role. Program participants will join the ATO in early 2025.

ATO acting Assistant Commissioner Celeste Breen said with over 20,000 staff across 15 locations around the country, the ATO offers hundreds of career pathways.

‘One of the best parts of the program is the job rotations in different areas. It allows successful candidates the opportunity to explore the diverse career possibilities available at the ATO.’

Program participants will have the chance to work alongside experts, receive on-the-job-training, build their skills and networks, and have a dedicated career manager to support them every step of the way.

The ATO also cares about the health and wellbeing of its people. ‘Graduates enjoy work-life balance with flexible working arrangements, generous leave and access to physical and mental health support.’

The ATO values diversity, curiosity and integrity. Our graduate program is available to graduates who have completed their university degree within the last 5 years or are in their final year of study.

‘Our program brings in some really talented people and I’m excited to meet the 2025 graduate recruits who’ll join us for our program.’

Graduate positions are also available in the fields of data, design, human resources, information technology, and marketing and communication.
