Police have charged a man following an alleged wounding and attempted robbery at Bundall yesterday, November 21.
Police will allege that around 12.35pm, a 28-year-old man sitting in a vehicle at a business on Bundall Road was approached by two unknown males. One was armed with a knife and the other was armed with a sawn-off shotgun.
Following an altercation, it will be alleged the man armed with the knife stole the victim’s car keys before leaving in a white Holden Cruze that had been stolen from a Merrimac address on November 19. The other man left the scene on foot.
The victim sustained stab wounds to his hands and was transported to hospital.
It will be further alleged that around 12.45pm, the man was seen driving the Holden Cruze dangerously on Showcase Court before crashing the vehicle. No members of the public were injured during this incident.
Police attended and charged the 41-year-old Gilston man with wounding in a public place while adversely affected by intoxicating substance, robbery armed in company and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
He is due to appear at Southport Magistrates Court today, November 22.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed either incident, or who may have CCTV or dashcam footage of either incident, to please come forward.
Investigations are continuing.
