AusBiotech Policy Forum: Biotech leaders head to Parliament

Parliament House Canberra will today host biotech leaders for a day of discussions and presentations with the government. The delegation of 27 CEOs will exchange on key topics in the .

The Hon Ed Husic (MP), Minister for Industry and Science, along with representatives from the Department of Health and Aged Care and the Department of Industry, Science and Resources will join industry leaders to work collaboratively to enhance our sector and to learn how it is supporting the bioeconomy.

The AusBiotech CEO Policy Forum provides an opportunity for biotech leaders to understand the government’s vision and goals, and for the government to get deeper insights into the importance of life sciences to the economy and the benefits and returns it brings to Australia and Australians. It enables them to engage in discussion on key policy opportunities that are aligned with the Biotechnology Blueprint.

The Forum is also a powerful opportunity to bring the life science sector’s economic and social contributions to Australia to the forefront and facilitate increased communication and collaboration between industry and government.

Key policies and topics to be discussed include the ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Medicines Policy and HTA review; the Medical Research Future Fund; the ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ One Stop Shop and Clinical Trials Front Door; focus areas of the TGA; the evolving landscape of IP; the University Research Commercialisation Plan and more.
