Minister for Industry and Science Ed Husic has today congratulated 31 of the nation’s best and brightest science and maths students who will soon compete in the 2023 International Science, Maths and Informatics Olympiads.
They will be going up against the world’s best, with a total of 1,900 students from 104 nations set to compete in this year’s Olympiad.
The Olympiads are the Olympic Games of science and maths and will push high school students to dig deep and put years of study to the ultimate test.
The secondary students will compete in practical and theory exams in physics, biology, chemistry, earth science, mathematics, and informatics.
The Australian Government is a major supporter of the Olympiad programs.
Through support for this type of initiative, the Australian Government is helping a new generation of young and talented Australians to hone their unique skills and abilities now, for the future benefit of Australia.
