Goulburn and Marulan will come alive this Australia Day.
Goulburn Australia Day Celebrations 2023 will be held at the stunning Goulburn Historic Waterworks, with Marulan’s being held at the Marulan Soccer Fields.
Goulburn’s celebrations will begin with a free BBQ breakfast at Rotary Park, Marsden Weir, from 7.30am – 9.00am. From 9.00am to 5.00pm there will be a great range of food and market stalls to explore.
The Aboriginal Arts and Culture Expo returns including First Nation Markets, Culture Connection Workshops featuring storytelling, Ochre and craft activities.
Crowd favourite Walking on Water will be back hosting water activities on the Wollondilly River, including pedalo boats, stand up paddle boarding, kayaking and pontoon battles! Bookings for water activities can be made on the day from the Australia Day marquee.
At 10 am, the Official Ceremony will begin with a Welcome to Country, Smoking Ceremony, and First Nations Dancers. Ellen Ryan will deliver the Ambassador address. The Local Citizen and Young Citizen awards, Event of the Year as well as the Junior and Senior Sportsperson of the Year awards will be presented. Lastly, the Citizenship Ceremony will take place as part of the event. This will be followed by live local music from 12.00pm – 4.00pm.
Other highlights will include Helloworld Trivia, trackless train rides, face painting and more! All activities are free of charge.
Shuttle buses will run from Victoria Park (Faithful St, near Seiffert Oval entry) to the Waterworks between 9.00am -4.00pm.
Marulan’s big Australia Day BBQ will begin at 4pm at the Marulan Soccer Fields.
Bring the family along for a fun evening featuring a petting zoo, live entertainment, fire twirlers, jumping castles, rides, and food trucks.
Finish your celebrations with a bang at the Marulan Fireworks display.
