Time is running out for anyone wanting to provide a nomination for City of Darwin Australia Day Citizen, Young Citizen and Community Activity of the Year Awards.
Nominations for this year’s awards close on 30 November.
In their 42nd year, the Awards are an opportunity to recognise people who make a real difference in our community.
Nominees could be community leaders, role models, people who go above and beyond to improve the lives of others or quiet achievers.
Anyone, including City of Darwin staff, can nominate someone for the Awards. This means friends, family, colleagues, clients, customers or individuals and organisations can nominate themselves of their activity. Award categories are Citizen of the Year; Young Citizen of the Year, which is open to those aged under 30 on January 26, 2022; and Community Activity of the Year, which is awarded to the most outstanding activity held in the preceding year. A person or activity needs to be nominated only once to be eligible for one of the Awards.
This year City of Darwin has simplified the on-line nomination process and will also provide phone support if needed.
