As part of Prime Minister Albanese’s Official visit to China, the first such visit since 2016, I will travel to Shanghai to attend the sixth China International Import Expo, one of the world’s largest trade shows, at the invitation of the Chinese Minister of Commerce, Wang Wentao.
There will be a record number of Australian exhibitors participating in this year’s Expo, with around 250 Australian businesses showcasing Australia’s world-class goods and services.
I look forward to joining the Prime Minister when he visits the Expo on Sunday.
In Shanghai, I will also deliver a keynote speech at the Hongqiao International Economic Forum highlighting Australia’s support for an open, rules-based trading system.
I will have an opportunity to engage with senior business leaders from a range of commercial sectors, and promote Australian tourism and education services.
Trade between Australia and China has delivered significant benefits to both our countries. My visit is another opportunity to advocate for Australian business, including for the full resumption of unimpeded Australian exports to China.
