Autumn Winter Events Guide Out Now

Southern Grampians Shire Council has released the Autumn/Winter edition of the Greater Hamilton Events Guide; a biannual calendar of over 80 events taking place between March and August 2020.

Visitors and locals alike will discover upcoming unique experiences throughout the Greater Hamilton region in this 16-page booklet, which includes a perforated Market Guide to tear out and add to the fridge.

The Hamilton Performing Arts Centre is hosting some big shows this year in new locations, including an acrobatic spectacular for the whole family as Circus Oz perform ‘Aurora’ in the Monivae College Chevalier Centre. Youth music event ‘Flo’ featuring Triple-J favourites; The Delta Riggs and Motor Ace will hit the Hamilton Showgrounds and the Hamilton Botanic Gardens once again welcome The Australian Shakespeare Company for their only performance of Twelfth Night outside Melbourne.

Other highlights from the Autumn/Winter events season include the biennial Cavendish Red Gum Festival, which includes hot air balloon flights, a collaborative ukulele “Eucalypso” event and a host of activities, talks and workshops.

Families will also love the huge three-day Sheepvention Rural Expo with its Careers Expo element and the Teddy Bear’s Picnic at the Hamilton Model Railway Museum.

The Greater Hamilton region has attracted some major sporting events for the coming months also, including the 2020 Victorian Closed Junior Table Tennis Championships coming to HILAC, the Dunkeld Polo Cup and the 34th Woody’s Murray to Moyne Cycle Relay. Visitors and residents can also relish the physical challenges on offer in the Grampians ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Park including Serra Terror and Peaks & Trails Run, with categories to suit everyone this year.

The Digital Innovation & Smart Agriculture Festival will make a welcome return in May, and the black-tie Western District Health Service Medicine Ball is on again in July. Don’t miss the chance to see History in Action at the Hamilton Pastoral Museum too, or admire the local talent on show at the Art & Photography shows held in Coleraine and Penshurst.
