The Rockliff Liberal Government welcomes today’s decision in the Supreme Court regarding the Blue Derby coupes.
Minister for Resources Felix Ellis said the decision once again vindicates Tasmania’s Forest practices system that is well-managed, robust, and best practice.
“This is very positive news for our forestry industry that supports over 5,000 jobs around the State, many in rural and regional areas,” Minister Ellis said.
“It also provides our sustainable native forest industry, both public and private, with the confidence it needs to continue day to day operations.
“We know the anti-everything greens will continue to try to shut our sustainable forestry sector down, but everyone working in it can rest assured our Government will always back the industry to the hilt”
