Growth and opportunity in Tasmania’s forests were front and centre of discussions at today’s refreshed Forestry Roundtable.
Under the Tasmanian Liberal Government’s pro-growth settings for forestry, jobs, confidence, investment and wood production have all increased since the disastrous Labor-Green Tasmanian Forestry Agreement.
Our aim is for Tasmanian forestry to continue innovating, value-adding and growing, which is why we took a package of strong pro-forestry policies to the Tasmanian people as part of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future.
Today’s Roundtable provided a forum for the Government to update and consult with key industry stakeholders on forestry matters, including our 100 Day commitments.
The Roundtable was attended by representatives from the Tasmanian Forest Products Association, Tasmanian Sawmillers Association, Tasmanian Special Timbers Alliance, Australian Forest Contractors Association, Sustainable Timber Tasmania and Private Forests Tasmania.
