Bandidos OMCG member charged over Wahroonga road-rage assault, NSW

A member of the Bandidos outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) has been charged by Strike Force Raptor North over an alleged road-rage assault on the M1 at Wahroonga yesterday.

The incident allegedly began at the intersection of the Pacific Highway and the M1 northbound about 6.40pm (Monday 4 November 2019), when the driver of a silver Mazda 3 reportedly became angry when the car in front stopped at an amber light.

The first car – a silver Volkswagen Golf – and the Mazda 3 stopped a short time later at the first emergency bay on the M1 at Wahroonga, and both drivers got out of their vehicles.

The driver and sole occupant of the VW – a 29-year-old Central Coast man – was allegedly punched to the ground and kicked by two men from the Mazda 3.

A passing motorist intervened, and the occupants of the Mazda fled. The VW driver was taken to hospital for treatment for facial injuries and bruising.

Officers from Kuring Gai Police Area Command were notified and commenced an investigation.

Following extensive inquiries, Strike Force Raptor North attended a home at Morisset about 9am today (Tuesday 5 November 2019), and spoke to a 32-year-old man.

The man was arrested and taken to Belmont Police Station where he was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company.

Police will allege in court that the man was the driver of the Mazda.

He was refused bail to appear at Toronto Local Court today.

Police are still seeking another man in relation to the incident.
