A man has been arrested following a robbery at a bank in Wendouree this morning.
Police have been told the man, who claimed to be armed with a firearm, entered the Howitt street business and made demands for cash about 9.45am.
The man fled the scene with an amount of money before being arrested by a member of the public a short distance away.
Ballarat Crime Investigation Unit detectives are on scene and a crime scene has been established.
No one was injured during the incident.
The 46-year-old Ballarat man is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
Armed Crime Squad detectives are heading to the scene and will investigate the incident.
