Celebrate cycling and community in the Barossa on Sunday 23 January when the Women’s Ziptrak Stage 1 kicks off the 2022 Santos Festival of Cycling.

The 86.1km route will take riders from Tanunda to Williamstown, climbing and winding through vineyards and lush greenery. The final Whispering Wall climb is expected to be an exciting highlight, along with the final turn onto Yettie Road which promises a thrilling finish to the first race of the 2022 season.

The race gets underway from 11am at the iconic Chateau Tanunda, and is expected to conclude just after 1.30pm on Yettie Road, Williamstown.

Locals and visitors alike are invited to join the Williamstown community celebration which includes market stalls from 9am – 2pm, food and entertainment, presented by Southern Barossa Alliance. Plenty of designated standing and picnic spaces will be available within Grigg Reserve.

Plus, be sure to get in early to check out the Tokyo 2021 Paralympic Games medallists in the Santos Para-Cycling Time Trial at Williamstown, from 9am – 11.30am in their first crowd race since the Olympics.

“This is a great opportunity for spectators, racing fans and community to see elite cycling at its best and support the local business and tourism industry,” said Mayor Bim Lange.
