Another red-tagged barramundi has been reeled in as part of Million Dollar Fish Season 6, bringing the tally to an all-time record high of four in just six days.
The latest $10,000 barra measured 57cm in length was reeled in by Rural Area resident Rowan Francis at Yellow Water in Kakadu in the early hours of Tuesday, 6 October.
The keen fisho said he’d registered for Million Dollar Fish every year since it started but never thought he would reel in a red tag.
Now $10,000 richer, Mr Francis said he looked forward to taking his award winning family of fishing fanatics on a bill fishing holiday.
This was the fourth Season 6 prize-tagged fish caught since the competition opened on 1 October, with $45,000 in prize money awarded to registered participants from the Territory and interstate.
There are still 97 $10,000 barra swimming around Territory waterways, along with seven $1 million barra and four Double-Tagged Barra waiting to be caught.
