Bass Coast Shire Council has again engaged contractors to undertake urgent sand renourishment works along the Inverloch Surf Beach shoreline to provide immediate stabilisation and protection of critical infrastructure. This work started on Wednesday 20 November 2024 following king tides and moderate sea waves and swells, and follows substantial renourishment delivered in September. Council’s actions address coastal erosion events on a case-by-case basis as they arise.
Council, along with other stakeholders, continue to work together as part of the Inverloch Regional and Strategic Partnership (RaSP) and support DEECA’s planned large-scale dune restoration project, which is expected to commence in the 2025-26 financial year.
Council is committed to partnering with others to safeguard Inverloch’s coastline, critical infrastructure, and community well-being. Through consistent monitoring, timely responses, and collaboration with stakeholders, coastal erosion challenges can be practically managed as they occur.
