Batemans Bay residents will soon have access to a new purpose-built community health facility, following the release of the main works construction tender to deliver the project.
The NSW Government is investing $20 million to build the new Batemans Bay Community Health facility to meet the healthcare needs of the local community now and into the future.
The new health facility will provide community-based services for Batemans Bay and surrounding areas, including allied health services, child and family services, and community mental health.
The project includes dedicated spaces for consultation, treatment, pathology, group rooms, and a gymnasium and will complement services being delivered as part of the new $330 million Eurobodalla Regional Hospital project.
Batemans Bay Community Health will be built on the existing Batemans Bay Hospital site and close to the Medicare Urgent Care Clinic, which was opened in December 2023, providing the community with easy access to a range of acute and non-acute health services available between the two services.
Planning for the new facility is nearing completion with the Review of Environmental Factors now on public exhibition as part of the formal planning process.
The plans are available on Health Infrastructure’s website: https://www.hinfra.health.nsw.gov.au/projects/on-exhibition and feedback can be provided via the website until midnight Monday 16 December 2024.
Following the completion of the competitive tender process, a builder will be engaged to scope the project, and a construction timeline will be confirmed in the first half of 2025.
Construction is expected to start in 2025, and the community will continue to be updated as the project progresses.
Further information on the redevelopment is available by visiting the project website: hinfra.health.nsw.gov.au/bbch
