Bayside Council is excited to partner with Grow It Local to help the Bayside community to grow, share and eat locally grown food.
“This is a fantastic community initiative, and we are looking forward to the great opportunities for our community to get involved in,” said Bayside Mayor Dr Christina Curry.
“By becoming actively involved in the process of growing food we can all help work towards sustainable living and reducing food waste.”
Grow It Local is an online local grow community, celebrating backyard, balcony, community, and window-sill farmers.
Grow it Local offers free organic seeds mailers, community workshops, live or online, that will help the Bayside community grow and share locally grown food.
Grow It Local is for everyone. Individuals, community organisations, schools, clubs, or businesses can all get involved and connected to other growers to help make Bayside a more sustainable community.
Council is committed to supporting initiatives that encourage positive sustainable living behaviours and food systems, facilitate community building, and support waste education and divert organic waste away from landfill.
Council’s partnership with Grow it Local will not only help promote locally grown food, it will also encourage sustainable living habits in the community.
