Bayside Mayor Edward McDougall used a Mayor Minute at last night’s Council Meeting to highlight Council’s commitment to mitigating the local effects of climate change and congratulate staff involved in developing Council’s innovative AI Flood Detection and Early Warning System.
Council’s AI Flood Detection and Early Warning System project, funded through a $300k grant from the NSW Reconstruction Authority, previously Resilience NSW, won the Climate Change Mitigation and Adaption Award at the Keep Australia Beautiful NSW 2024 Sustainable Cities Awards on Thursday 10 October.
Bayside Council was also a finalist in the Overall Sustainable Cities award category.
