The Business Council of Australia strongly condemns the threatening and menacing behaviour of activists who targeted the family home of Woodside Energy CEO Meg O’Neill in Perth today.
“Everyone has the right to feel safe in their own home and this deplorable action has crossed a line. There is no place for this type of intimidating, bullying and threatening behaviour in our society,” Business Council chief executive Jennifer Westacott said.
“We stand with Ms O’Neill in condemning the actions of this extremist group which were designed to threatened her, her partner and their daughter.
“The BCA has zero tolerance for this type of disgraceful and unacceptable behaviour.
“Just like everyone else in our society, the private homes and families of business leaders should be off limits.
“Today’s actions are completely at odds with a civil and respectful debate around Australia’s clean energy transition.”
