Rockhampton Regional Council and Beef Australia today announced that Beef2024 will be bigger and better than ever with Council delivering new activations and funding for the region’s largest event.

The new agreement will see Council provide sponsorship as a principal partner in addition to a series of city activations that will help increase participation and access as well as the promotion of tourism experiences across the region.

Activations for the event delivered by Council include:

  • Visitor engagement programs at Rockhampton airport
  • Transportation services, including buses to and from the event precinct
  • Promotion of local attractions within the region
  • Beautification projects throughout the region
  • Digital educational tours providing insights into the history of Beef Australia
  • A premium trade stall showcasing the region’s business opportunities.

Rockhampton Region Mayor Tony Williams said the new partnership for Beef2024 was built on a long history of Council support for the event and a strong working relationship with the Beef Australia team.

“Rockhampton Regional Council is proud to be a sponsor and supporter of the Beef Australia event since its inception in 1988,” Mayor Williams said.

“This is by far the largest event we hold in our region and a real opportunity for locals and visitors alike to engage with Beef2024 and enjoy everything it has to offer.

“In 2024 Council will be providing sponsorship and funding for activations to ensure we are spreading the benefits of Beef across the region and helping support better participation and access to the event.

“Beef2024 is expected to have enormous economic impact on our visitor economy, with Beef 2021 alone generating more than $86 million in expenditure.

“So whether you are a local, industry participant or visitor, we want everyone to have an enjoyable experience at the event and in our region, and this new partnership will see Beef2024 become bigger and better than ever.”

Beef Australia Chair Bryce Camm said Beef Australia are thrilled to announce their partnership with Rockhampton Regional Council, a partnership that dates back to 1988.

“Beef2024 is poised to be yet another groundbreaking event for the global beef industry, but also the local Central Queensland economy”, Mr Camm said.

“The long-standing support from Rockhampton Regional Council is a testament to our shared commitment to advancing the agricultural industry in Rockhampton, but also to growing the region as a must visit destination.

“Beef2024 is not just an event for the beef industry, but a celebration for the whole Rockhampton and wider Central Queensland community.

“With Council’s support and the exciting range of city activation planned, plus the addition to new food and entertainment precincts like M’Eat Street and a discounted Twilight Pass, we aim to enhance the event’s appeal and accessibility to more Rockhampton locals.

“We’re looking forward to May 5 – 11, 2024 when Beef2024 again opens its gates to the world, in Rockhampton, Queensland”.

Advance Rockhampton Tourism and Events Manager, Zac Garven said he can’t wait for the premier event to return next year, and the Advance Rockhampton team are in full preparation mode.

“This event is like no other on the calendar. Beef2024 plays a critical role in the sustainability of Rockhampton’s expanding agricultural sector to both national and international visitors. The agricultural industry adds approximately $400 million value to our region’s economy each year.”

“The team at Advance Rockhampton aim to ensure visitors and locals alike have the best possible experience in our region.

“That’s why we have developed a range of activations and initiatives which complement the event and showcase our region.

“We also want to give visitors that comprehensive experience of everything the Rockhampton region has to offer, giving them plenty of reasons to return to Rockhampton.”
