Belmont Fire Investigation – Update

Arson Squad detectives are seeking information regarding a fire at a business premises on Belvidere Street, Belmont this morning, Tuesday 20 September 2022.
About 12:25am police were called to the business premises in relation to the fire. It is the second time in less than 24 hours that the building has been the subject of a fire, after police and Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel were called to the same location about 3:30am yesterday, Monday 19 September 2022, for a similar fire incident.
This morning’s fire is being treated a suspicious, and given the location and timing of the fire it is being investigated whether the two incidents are linked.
Anyone with dash-cam vision of anyone acting suspiciously in the vicinity of Belvidere Street between 2:30am and 3:45am yesterday morning, or between 11:30pm last night and 12:45am this morning, can upload the vision to Investigators directly via this link:
