The region’s biggest tourism conference, Bendigo NEXT, returns to The Capital on Monday November 21 with an exciting program tailored to support local and regional tourism businesses to grow in 2023.
Bendigo NEXT is a single day event featuring experts from several industries, including tech, marketing and tourism sector leaders exploring the latest and emerging trends, and providing their invaluable insights and learnings.
The event is presented in partnership by the City of Greater Bendigo and the Bendigo Tourism Board, and is supported with grant funding from Business Victoria’s Business Chambers and Trader Groups Program.
City Manager Tourism and Major Events Terry Karamaloudis said Bendigo NEXT was a must-attend event for anyone involved in tourism.
“This is an essential opportunity for all businesses, both local and further afield, who are involved in tourism, customer service, accommodation and events to capture new and best-practice information from inspiring speakers,” Mr Karamaloudis said.
“There will be an abundance of expertise to provide guidance on emerging trends, what’s next for the industry and what businesses need to do to move forward effectively.
“Highlights will include what travellers and consumers are looking for next, how to create an award-winning experience or attraction, and a session discussing what to expect for the Victoria 2026 Commonwealth Games. There will also be opportunities to network with other businesses.
“The visitor economy is crucial for our region’s success and Bendigo NEXT will help businesses to stay ahead in a competitive tourism market.”
The event features tourism industry professionals including Diana Morgan, Visit Victoria’s Industry Engagement and Product Manager, and Kirsty Malapa from Tourism Australia on understanding post-pandemic international travel.
Joel and Cory Thorsen from Bliss Search Agency will discuss digital marketing and growing market share, and tech guru Yvonne Adele shares tips to stay innovative and creative in an everchanging market.
Echuca region’s John Hall, owner of Cactus Country, winner of the 2021 VTIC Tourism Attraction Award and Chair of Echuca Moama and District Tourism Board, will also be a highlight.
The conference is open to tourist operators, accommodation providers, hospitality and retail traders, specialists in events, experiences and attractions, and service industries that support tourism in the region.
