The Andrews Labor Government is delivering improvements to Stawell’s bus network that will provide locals with more frequent services six days a week.
Minister for Public Transport Melissa Horne visited Stawell today to to announce more bus services for locals – which from 2 March will combine Stawell’s three existing bus routes into two higher-frequency routes, along with new Saturday services.
The new timetable will offer the community 10 services on each route on weekdays and five services per route on Saturdays – 30 more services per week than the current timetable provides.
The extended service hours will give Stawell residents the freedom to travel when they want to, while the improved routes will offer more coverage to key destinations including local businesses, Central Park, the Stawell Sport and Aquatic Centre, Stawell West Primary School and Stawell Secondary College.
New bus stops are also under construction around town to accommodate the network changes, giving residents along the routes better access to public transport.
The improved timetable comes after extensive consultation with the Stawell community, which gave residents the chance to offer their feedback.
