The Allan Labor Government is giving the Fishermans Bend community access to more frequent bus services and better connections to neighbouring suburbs and trains at Elsternwick Station.
Minister for Public Transport Gabrielle Williams today announced from Friday, 19 May, Route 606 Elsternwick Station to Fishermans Bend services will operate for longer all week.
Passengers will benefit from an extra 111 services per week as the last services now depart close to 9pm each night and weekend services starting earlier.
On weekends, instead of terminating at Port Melbourne, the route will now be extended to Fishermans Bend making it consistent with weekday services.
The improvements on Route 606 will better link Fishermans Bend with neighbouring suburbs of Albert Park, Middle Park, St Kilda and Elwood – delivering better coordination with trains on weekdays at Elsternwick Station, making transfers to other stations on the metro network more convenient.
Since 2022, the Labor Government has delivered almost 1,500 extra services a week to the Fishermans Bend public transport network which link the booming precinct with the city centre.
