Councillor for Recreation and Events Mark Eckel said it was exciting to see events returning to our region in a big way following the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The variety of events on offer for locals and visitors alike this weekend is unparalleled,” Cr Eckel said.
“Each has the capacity to attract large crowds, catering to local enthusiasts while creating tourism and economic opportunities.
“It’s also pleasing to note that each of these events are being supported through Council grants, further demonstrating our Council’s commitment to ensuring residents have access to quality events.
“This is also a great win from a tourism perspective, with all events sure to attract visitors to our municipality.
“Once again, it also highlights the diversity of locations on offer to event organisers in our region. Among those, our first-class aquatic facilities hosting the Mildura Murray Masters Swimming Carnival, and the picturesque Lake Cullulleraine and its recently upgraded amenities hosting the Cullulleraine Music Festival.
“This is a great example of our Council rates working for the community, with Mildura Rural City Council-supported events funded through our Event Funding and Support Grant program.”
