Campaspe Regional Library Services will be hosting the Blurry Borders photographic exhibition by Swan Hill photographer Kristan Emerson from 9 – 22 September at the Echuca branch.
Library Services Manager Jenny Mustey said Kristan’s photographs are made extra special as the images are taken through the lens of a legally blind person.
“Kristan’s photographs are carefully captured and are accompanied by his unique stories of the places he has visited,” Mrs Mustey said.
What makes these photographs inspirational is the fact that the photographer has three percent vision in only one eye.
“My eyes do not have lenses but my camera does. It is my way of seeing detail in an otherwise blurry world,” Mr Emerson said.
The Blurry Borders exhibition aims to promote access and inclusion for others with visual impairment and disabilities. Audio descriptions of each photograph have been made by Description Victoria and accompany the exhibition.
“As part of the Echuca Exhibition there will also be a free artist talk on Tuesday, 17 September at 2.30pm,” Mrs Mustey said.
“Following the artist talk, Vision Initiative will provide an eye health information stand and the library will showcase a range of visual aids that are available for loan.”
