A body has been located during the search for a man reported missing from the State’s south.
Officers from Murrumbidgee Police District had been searching for the 27-year-old man after his hire car was found damaged on Murrumbidgee River Road, Carrathool, about 50km east of Midwestern Highway intersection. A kangaroo was found dead nearby.
The Victorian man was reported missing to Victoria Police on Saturday 1 June 2024, and inquiries were commenced into his whereabouts.
A new search commenced yesterday (Tuesday 23 July 2024), with assistance from the NSW State Emergency Service, with the man’s body found in dense bushland near the Murrumbidgee River.
Initial inquiries indicate there are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
