People in Warragul will soon be able to cross two key local roads in town more safely, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.
Minister for Roads Jaala Pulford today announced funding to build pedestrian refuge islands on both Normanby Street and Albert Street in Warragul.
The refuge on Normanby Street will service a local bus stop, improving safety and access across the busy road for school students and nearby residents.
Upgrades on Albert Street are close to the Mawarra Centre which provides disability services, giving people using Mawarra Centre services and locals a safe crossing point on this busy road.
The $126,000 investment part of the Labor Government’s Flexible Local Transport Solutions Program, which supports flexible and tailored transport trials, services and small infrastructure projects.
Both projects are being delivered in partnership with the Baw Baw Shire Council.
