Southern Metro Region Crime Squad detectives charged a 16-year-old boy today following an alleged suspicious car fire in St Kilda East on 2 January.
Emergency services were called to Alexandra Street about 9.10pm after reports an allegedly stolen car had been set alight.
Fire crews arrived and extinguished the blaze.
A Glen Iris boy was arrested today in East Ringwood and charged with aggravated burglary, three counts of theft, two counts of criminal damage by fire and reckless conduct endanger serious injury.
He has been remanded to face a children’s court.
