A Miranda man will face court today charged with break and enter and drug offences.
About 9.30am Thursday (29 August 2019), a 23-year-old man allegedly stole a knife from a fast food shop on Box Road in Jannali.
A short time later, the man allegedly entered a dry cleaner on the same road and attempted to steal a Bluetooth speaker. After being confronted by the owner, the man ran from the shop.
Officers attached to Sutherland Shire PAC were called at 10.30am when the man was observed allegedly attempting to break into another premise.
When police attended, the man fled on foot and engaged police in a pursuit around Jannali Railway Station.
About 11.50am, the man was arrested in a garage on Oxley Avenue, Jannali.
Police searched the man and located and seized two bags containing a small amount of methylamphetamine.
It is also alleged that the man gained entry to at least three other premises in the area and two motor vehicles.
The 23-year-old was taken to Sutherland Police Station and was charged with two counts of aggravated break and enter, one count of break and enter with intent, two counts of possess prohibited drug and one count of larceny.
The Miranda man was refused bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court today (Friday 30 August 2019).
