Upgrade works to improve road safety and water service reliability have been completed at Toowoomba’s Bridge and Holberton streets intersection.
Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) Construction and Maintenance (Infrastructure Services) portfolio spokesperson Cr Carol Taylor said the works comprised several key projects.
“The first and second stages upgraded the Holberton Street watermain, which has improved the reliability of the water supply to surrounding Newtown residents, along with stormwater upgrades,” Cr Taylor said.
“Upgrades to the intersection include designated traffic signals for through and right-turn movements on both Holberton Street approaches, with the intersection layout including a designated left-turning lane along the northern approach.
“Green road cycle lanes were incorporated into the layout, along with additional line-marking and signage to improve awareness and increase safety for cyclists.”
