Bring them ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾

Beth Weizmann Jewish Community Centre

The Beth Weizmann Jewish Community Centre stands with Israel and its People at this time of almost unbearable sorrow and concern and at 10 am on Friday November 3, 2023 will be establishing a wall of posters of those kidnapped and held hostage by Hamas in Gaza after the barbaric terrorist invasion of southern Israel on Oct 7.

As part of the worldwide campaign to “Bring them ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾” the wall will feature the names and faces of at least 100 of the 240 taken into captivity by Hamas terrorists.

Chair of Beth Weizmann Jewish Community Centre Sam Tatarka OAM said “All too quickly the world is ready to forget that Hamas has taken infants as young as 3 months and Holocaust survivors in their 90s into their terror tunnels as human shields and bargaining chips in their war of annihilation against Jews everywhere” He went on to say “Each of the hostages has a name, a story, and family members who are tortured daily by their continued detention, we hope that the wall will become a focal point for our community to show support for them and at the same time help raise awareness of their plight”.

Beth Weizmann Jewish Community Centre, is the centre of Jewish communal life in Melbourne and as such we have a responsibility and a duty to support our community as so many members have family and friends directly impacted by the horrific assault on those simply going about their daily lives on October 7.

“We hope and pray that each and every one of the missing will soon be safely returned to their families and that the wall will become redundant. We also passionately reiterate the closing words of Hatikvah (Israel’s national anthem) and hope and pray for the day when Israelis can live as a free people in peace in their homeland.”
