Bringing people together at Neighbourhood House Week

There’s a lot on during Neighbourhood House Week so let’s get together and embrace this year’s theme ‘Bringing people together – from your neighbourhood to your nation’ from 10-17 May.

Brimbank’s Neighbourhood Houses offer a range of programs including activities and classes for all life stages. They are friendly and welcoming places where you can drop-in to make new friends, gain new skills and share ideas and experiences in a supportive and informal environment.

Community members are invited to take part in a range of exciting activities, at no charge, across the Brimbank Neighbourhood House network during May at the following locations:

Come and Try session

Walking Group

Monday 6 May, 10-11.30am

Join walkers for a ‘walk and talk’ or fast walking session around Cairnlea and come back to Cairnlea community Hub to enjoy morning tea together

Delahey Community Centre, 9249 4900

Come and Try Sessions

Yoga

Monday 6 May, 10-11am

Try a yoga class to improve your health and wellbeing with a focus on stretching, posture and breathing (beginners to intermediate)

Get Active

Thursday 9 May, 2-3pm

A gentle and low impact exercise class suitable for seniors, beginners and all abilities

Pottery

Wednesday 8 May, 10-11.30am

Try your hand at wheel throwing or hand building. Make a simple (unfired) pot to take home

Learn techniques of drawing still life

Saturday 11 May – 1-2.30pm

Have fun sculpturing with clay. All ages welcome.

Places are limited and bookings are essential and can be made by contacting the individual houses and centres directly.

There are which deliver a range of social health and wellbeing, learning, social engagement and other community development opportunities for all members of the community.
