Bringing the World to Tasmania with the launch of Savour Tasmania 2024

Tasmania’s largest inbound visitation program will showcase 40 Tasmanian exporting businesses and industry associations through a five-day program of events across the State.

Savour Tasmania began with a speed networking event in Hobart, connecting 18 international buyers with 40 Tasmanian businesses, providing an opportunity for our Tasmanian producers to showcase their products to the world.

Premier and Minister for Trade, Jeremy Rockliff, said the Tasmanian Government backed the new Inbound Visitation Program through its 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future with an initial investment of $600,000.

“Savour Tasmania is the largest inbound trade event the State has hosted in the past five years,” Premier Rockliff said.

“We know Tasmania has what the world wants, and bringing the world to our doorstep through Savour Tasmania will give international buyers the chance to meet our producers and makers, sample our produce, and experience what our State has to offer first-hand.

“The program will feature 40 established and emerging Tasmanian exporting businesses and industry associations across sectors including seafood, meat, fruit and vegetables, packaged food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

“We’re pleased to welcome 18 international buyers, importers, and representatives from major retailers from the priority markets of China, Japan, South Korea, USA, and Hong Kong.

“Trade is integral to Tasmania’s economic future with our international exports of goods and services contributing close to $6 billion annually to the economy and supporting thousands of jobs.

“Our Government is building on this success through our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future, which includes an additional $1.6 million investment to work with key market sectors and leverage opportunities to benefit all Tasmanian businesses.

“Savour Tasmania not only promotes our exceptional produce but also positions Tasmania as a world-class food and beverage-focused holiday destination.”
