Tasmania will host its first inbound trade visitation program, as part of the 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future.
Premier and Minister for Trade, Jeremy Rockliff, said the Tasmanian Government was investing $600,000 to deliver the inaugural inbound trade visitation program.
“This is a new way of showcasing Tasmania to buyers, investors, customers, diplomats and influencers,” Premier Rockliff said.
“As we heard at today’s industry trade forum, there’s no better way to show Tasmanian produce to the world than providing an unforgettable experience in our State.
“Our Savour Tasmania program will bring the world to our doorstep in July/August.”
Savour Tasmania is a premium inbound buyer’s mission which will showcase 50 established and emerging Tasmanian exporting businesses through a five-day program of events and activities across the State.
Premier Rockliff said this exciting initiative builds on our strong record of supporting Tasmanian trade.
“When we established Tasmania’s first whole-of-government Trade Strategy back in 2019 the sole purpose was to boost our State’s trade in domestic and international markets and diversify our exports across markets,” Premier Rockliff said.
“Each year we have developed with industry an annual Trade Action Plan aligned to the goals of that strategy.
“I am proud to report all 20 initiatives outlined in the Action Plan to support emerging and established exporters have been delivered or are on track for completion.”
Tasmania’s international trade industry injects close to $6 billion a year into the State’s economy and supports tens of thousands of jobs.
“Our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future continues our laser focus on trade, committing $3.6 million to support additional trade activities,” Premier Rockliff said.
