British company BSR EPC Limited has chosen Sydney for a new Australian headquarters to tap into growing national energy markets.
NSW Minister for Investment Stuart Ayres said the NSW Government had helped secure the investment that would create a dozen jobs over the next three years.
BSR EPC will provide engineering, procurement and construction services for the renewable energy sector.
“This is a great win for NSW’s renewable energy sector and another vote of confidence in Sydney as Australia’s business capital,” Mr Ayres said.
“The NSW Government worked with BSR EPC to help secure this investment by providing market information and introductions to potential partners, clients, suppliers and other agencies.”
BSR EPC Director Tim Humpage said Sydney would be the Australian base for the company as it pursued business opportunities nationally.
“Sydney provides a strategic base to target national renewable energy opportunities in NSW as well as other states,” Mr Humpage said.
“We chose Sydney because of its business strengths, its central location to national markets, the fact that the majority of our clients are located in Sydney, and the support we received setting up.
“In the United Kingdom, BSR EPC has constructed over 550 MW of solar and energy storage projects including the country’s four largest solar parks and one of the largest energy storage facilities. “We are excited about expanding our expertise and offering into the growing Australian market,” Mr Humpage said.
