Proposals for the purchase and redevelopment of 71-77 Bromley Road, Robinvale will open this Thursday.
In May, Swan Hill Rural City Council agreed to sell the two parcels of land on the town’s entrance for commercial use.
Council will now use seven key criteria to assess proposals, before Councillors determine a preferred purchaser and enter into negotiations.
Council Chief Executive Officer John McLinden said the decision on who to sell the land to would be influenced by the proposal’s economic and social benefits to Robinvale, and the way it would look and work within the Bromley Road setting.
“People submitting proposals will have to outline the likely economic and social benefits to the Robinvale area – things like employment, community sponsorships, improved services for the town. This criteria will carry the most weight when we are assessing the proposals,” Mr McLinden said.
“The second highest criteria will be how a development might work with the surrounding land, and we’re asking potential purchasers to outline any enhancements or complementary uses with the adjoining park,” he said.
Other criteria will include the purchaser’s experience and financial viability, price offered for the land, sustainability practices, and innovation.
Request for Proposals will open this Thursday, 1 August. The Request for Proposals brief will be available on Council’s website – www.swanhill.vic.gov.au.
