Hobsons Bay City Council has developed a draft master plan for Bruce Comben Reserve in Altona Meadows to guide future planning, development and maintenance of the site.
The plan is being developed after the Hobsons Bay Aquatic Strategy recommended a new aquatic facility within the reserve. To undertake the development, a master plan is required and Council is now seeking community feedback until 15 August 2020.
The draft master plan for Bruce Comben Reserve includes the proposed location of a new aquatic and leisure centre, acknowledgement of ongoing provision of early years services, new multi-sport facilities and activity zones, upgrades to the current sports pavilion and facilities, a new play space as well as an off-leash dog park and general landscaping and maintenance.
The objective of the draft master plan is to show where a new aquatic facility would be located onsite to service the west of the municipality, and ensure the reserve continues to be a place for sport, play and recreation, community gathering and community health and wellbeing.
The draft master plan can be viewed online at or at the Altona Meadows Library and Learning Centre, the Seabrook Community Centre or the Laverton Community Hub. An overview can be seen in the video below.
