³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to reflect on what reconciliation means to us and how we can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
It is a time to learn about shared cultures, histories and achievements as we strive for a more inclusive Australia.
NRW commemorates two significant events in Australia’s reconciliation journey:
- The successful which achieved constitutional recognition of Australia’s First Peoples, and
- The which recognised that Indigenous Peoples had been living in Australia, and had rights to their land, for thousands of years prior to colonisation
³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Reconciliation Week is preceded by ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Sorry Day on 26th May.
At Burnet, we are committed to reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.
Through our Reflect (RAP), Burnet is building and strengthening relationships, respect and opportunities through strong governance.
Our vision for reconciliation is to work with and alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People to improve health outcomes for all Australians.
We encourage you to learn more about NRW, take part in one of the many events and reflect on how we can be brave and make change!
