Hawkesbury City Council has published a Bushfire Recovery Guide to help community members quickly and easily find out the best points of contact for bushfire recovery enquiries.
and has also been made available in hardcopy to residents in various parts of the Hawkesbury including St Albans, Kurrajong Heights. Colo Heights, Kurrajong, Bowen Mountain and Bilpin. Hard copies were made available at Council’s Bushfire Recovery community meetings which were held at St Albans and Bilpin this week. The document was created based on discussions at the Colo Heights community meeting which was held in December 2019.
The Bushfire Recovery Guide includes contacts, information and the responsible organisations for donations, appeals and volunteering, disaster welfare assistance, Federal Government assistance and disaster recovery payments, emergency housing, mental health assistance, animal welfare, domestic and green waste and more.
The Mayor of Hawkesbury, Councillor Barry Calvert hopes the Bushfire Recovery Guide will help residents to find the contacts and information they need during this time.
“We want our community members to know that we are here to help and support you and, as part of this, we have collated these important contacts in one document, which we will update regularly as required. If you have further questions or suggestions for us to include, we are listening and ready to help,” the Mayor said.
