Business operators in Corangamite Shire have the opportunity to benefit from up to $5000 in innovation funding, but they need to act fast.
Applications for Corangamite Shire Council’s Innovation and Entrepreneur Program close on Friday 8 November 2019.
Council Manager Growth and Engagement Rory Neeson said innovation was one of Council’s core values and was reflected in the one-of-a-kind grants program.
“The aim is to encourage new and existing businesses in the Shire to complete new, innovative projects that benefit themselves and the broader local economy,” Mr Neeson said.
“Improving performance with new and original business practices can create jobs and help ensure our economic future is sustainable.”
Small businesses looking to complete an upgrade or looking at ways to improve how they do business are encouraged to apply.
To be eligible for the program applicants must be located within the Corangamite Shire or planning to re-locate to the municipality within three months of applying for the grant and have 20 or fewer full-time equivalent employees.
Businesses can apply on a dollar-for-dollar basis to complete improvements with the amount capped at $5000 (exc. GST) per business.
Mr Neeson encouraged interested parties to call Council to discuss application requirements with a member of the Growth and Engagement team.
“We have received a high number of enquiries, so it’s important to submit a quality application to maximise your likelihood of success.”
