The Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has congratulated Peter Dutton on his election as Liberal leader, and David Littleproud as ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾s leader. The Chamber is committed to working with all parties to equip Australian businesses to succeed.
“ACCI congratulates Mr Dutton on his appointment as Opposition Leader, and we welcome his strong focus on addressing the pressures faced by business,” ACCI chief executive Andrew McKellar said.
“The Chamber also looks forward to working with Mr Littleproud on key issues faced by rural and regional businesses, including the need for more skilled workers, greater support for training and apprenticeships, and increased investment in critical infrastructure.
“We extend our congratulations to Sussan Ley on her election as deputy Liberal leader and Perin Davey as deputy ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾s leader.
“During the 47th Parliament, ACCI will seek to work constructively with the Government, Opposition and other parliamentarians to achieve a better deal for business, ensuring the success of all Australians.
“Amid an increasingly volatile and uncertain global economy, acute workforce shortages, supply chain bottlenecks, rising energy costs and growing inflation, the challenges faced by business are many. We look forward to working with all parliamentarians to address these challenges.
“Most urgently, we implore the parliamentary Liberal and ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ parties to support bipartisan action on energy and emissions reduction policy. Legislated emissions reductions targets will provide the certainty that business needs as the economy transitions to a cleaner future, driving innovation and ambition.
