Cabonne Council’s ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ and Community Care (HACC) service is excited to announce that from Friday 1st April 2022, the Service will officially change its name to Cabonne ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Support (CHS).
HACC has been in operation since the mid-1990s, and although the funding structures have changed over the years the organisation still offer the same services across the Cabonne local government area.
The name change has been made to modernise the service and remove the reference to HACC which as a funding program has not existed since 2015. The new name will bring the service into line with the current funding structure, as well as the proposed future direction of Australian Government funding for aged care services.
The service has 81 dedicated volunteers across the Cabonne local government area who provide invaluable support with delivering the services to people aged 65 years and over who need help to remain living independently at home.
Cabonne ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Support continue to provide the following services throughout the shire:
- A hot meal delivery service (in Canowindra and Eugowra), as well as a frozen meal delivery service.
- Individual Social Support and Community Visitors to provide companionship to eligible clients.
- Social support group activities.
- A ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Maintenance program, where they utilise local contractors to provide subsidised support to assist and maintain the safety of the person’s yard.
We are also always on the lookout for people interesting in volunteering, especially for our Social Support and Community Visitors services. We are also looking for new contractors to assist with delivering our ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Maintenance Program.
